After four consecutive days atop the leaderboard, Zach Adams was crowned champion of the 93rd SCGA Amateur Championship.
Adams finished the tournament with an overall score of 16-under-par 268. He carded four birdies today and posted a final round score of three-under-par 68 to claim the title for the second time, since his previous win in 2022.
"Today was just a grind," Adams said when asked about his final round. "Just had to have a lot of heart and tried to get the ball in the hole as quick as possible."
With this win, Adams will now advance to the U.S. Amateur Championship at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota. When asked about moving to the USGA tournament, which he will leave for next week Adams said, "I was so disappointed that I missed it (a U.S. Amateur Qualifying spot) earlier this summer. I felt like I have been playing great all summer. So, it's good to get over there."
Matthew Doyle of Summerville secured second-place honors, finishing the tournament with an overall score of 14-under-par 270.
Jed Dirksen of Greenville finished the tournament in third place with an overall score of 12-under-par 272.
