The third annual Folds of Honor Collegiate will be contested September 9 to 11 at the Jack Nicklaus-designed American Dunes Golf Club in Grand Haven, Mich.

This year’s tournament has expanded to 15 men’s teams and 15 women’s teams.

The 54-hole event will be broadcast live on Golf Channel and simulcast on Peacock and Golf Channel’s digital platforms.

“As a former collegiate golfer at Kansas, and after speaking to the players and coaches the past two years, I understand how special and important this event is,” Lt Col Dan Rooney, founder and CEO of Folds of Honor, said in a press release. “To be able to play for more than yourself or even your team separates this tournament from all others.

“When we began to reimagine American Dunes, Mr. Nicklaus and I always envisioned hosting a collegiate event. In three short years, we have a top-rated men’s and women’s field, extensive network coverage, and a Presenting Sponsor in Michelob ULTRA that highlights Anheuser-Busch’s longstanding support of our mission. This represents so many people coming together to support and honor our scholarship recipients and our country on an outstanding golf course. Having the final round on 9/11 adds even more meaning to this patriotic event.”

Michigan State finished in second place, Arkansas finished in third place, South Carolina finished in fourth place, and Arizona finished in fifth place.

This is the first season of the women’s championship.

Notable players

In the men’s championship, Notre Dame is back in the field to defend its championship, and Kansas is in the field, but Belisle has graduated.

Gunnar Broin of Kansas is in the field after making the cut at the U.S. Open this summer.

Florida State is in the field, but Luke Clanton is not. The No. 1 ranked golfer in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com World Rankings. Clanton made the cut at five PGA Tour events this summer and recorded top-ten finishes in three of them. He is heading to Napa Valley to compete in the PGA Tour’s Procore Championship.

Christiaan Maas and Tommy Morrison lead Texas into the championship, as Morrison became the first American to win the European Amateur and made the cut at The Open Championship.

On the women’s side, Florida State’s Lottie Woad, who is ranked No. 1 in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com Women’s Rankings, is the headliner of the field. Woad recently helped GB&I win the Curtis Cup for the first time since 2016.
