Avery Weed tied an NCAA record en route to winning The Ally at Old Waverly at Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Miss.
The Ally is the Bulldogs' home tournament, and Weed took advantage, shooting an opening round of 11-under 61 and tying the record for the lowest round in relation to par in NCAA history.

This also put her in the Bulldog history books, giving her the lowest round in Mississippi State history by two shots and tying the lowest NCAA round in relation to par. She played Old Waverly’s four par 5s in the first round and finished at 7 under.
She joined N.C. State’s Lauren Olivares Leon, who shot an 11-under 60 in the opening round of the Cougar Classic, and Michigan’s Monet Chun, who shot a 10-under 61. Seven female golfers have now carded rounds of 61 or better in NCAA history.
Weed shot rounds of 61-72-74 to finish 9-under and win by one shot.
Sara Im of Vanderbilt finished in solo second place at 8-under, and Anna Davis of Auburn and Paula Francisco of Florida finished T3 at 6-under. Ines Archer of Florida and Madison Dabagia of Indiana finished T5 at 4-under.
In the team competition, Florida won by six shots, finishing 15-under with rounds of 287-280-282. Host school Mississippi State finished in solo second place at 9-under.
Vanderbilt finished in solo third place at 6-under, Auburn finished in solo fourth place at 3-over, and Mercer finished in solo fifth place at 16-over.
