For the third time in four years, Jack Larkin Sr. of Atlanta, Ga., wins the Georgia Senior Championship at the Landings Club, Palmetto Course, in Savannah, Ga.

Backed by a final round 6-under 66, Larkin ran away from the field to win by six shots at 7-under. Larkin carded rounds of 71-66. He bogeyed the first hole in the final round, then rattled off seven birdies in the next 17 holes to blitz the field.

"I hit like a champ," Larkin said. "I drove it really good, got it on the green, and made some putts. I hit a spell there where I made a bunch of birdies in a row, and it was just fun."

Scotty Scott of Hoschton, Ga., finished in solo second place at 1-under, while Danny Nelson finished in solo third place at 1-over.

"The last few years I have done well in it," Larkin said. "For whatever reason. We are so lucky with the Georgia State Golf Association. They are so good."

Larkin has been on a tear of late, winning the 2021 and 2023 Georgia Senior Championships, the 2024 Reynolds Senior, and the 2024 Jones Cup Senior. He is ranked No. 10 in the AmateurGolf.com Senior Rankings.

"I didn't really think about it until I was driving home today, but I realized I had a pretty good year," Larkin said.

Bob Royak of Alpharetta, Ga., Doug Hanzel of Savannah, Ga., Rusty Strawn of Eatonton, Ga., Robert Sheets of Atlanta, Ga., and Donald Miller of Alpharetta, Ga., all finished T4 at 6-over to round out the top five.

"You come to the senior amateur and it feels like a national tournament," Larkin said. "It is such a great field."

Hanzel has won the championship four times (2012, 2014, 2015, and 2022), and Royak has won it twice (2017 and 2019). Larkin is the fourth golfer to win the GSGA Senior Championship three or more times.
