The United States Golf Association announced local and final qualifying sites for the 125th U.S. Open Championship, which will be contested at Oakmont (Pa.) Country Club for a record 10th time from June 12 to 15.

Local qualifying, conducted over 18 holes at 110 sites in 43 U.S. states, Canada, and Mexico, will take place between April 16 and May 19. Those advancing players will join a group of locally exempt competitors in final qualifying, which will be conducted over 36 holes. This final stage will be held in England and Japan (May 19) and Canada (June 2), as well as 10 U.S. sites, one on May 19 and the remaining nine on June 2.

Last year, 2023 U.S. Amateur Championship runner-up Neal Shipley of Ohio State and Luke Clanton of Florida State battled for low amateur honors. MONDAY, MAY 19 (1)

Palmer (Alaska) Golf Course
It's a long way from La Jolla, California to Palmer, Alaska but Youssef Guezzele made the trip worthwhile, grabbing the only spot up for grabs in the last of the Local Qualifiers with a 6-under 66. But there was good news for the host state as Anchorage resident Briggs Winfree, an amateur, posted 2-under 70 to become the first alternate.

Granite Bay (Calif.) G.C.

Corey Pereira of Cameron Park, CA, fired a flawless 5-under 66 to take medalist honors at the U.S. Open Local Qualifier held at Granite Bay Golf Club on May 8. Pereira carded five birdies—three on holes 7 through 9 and two more on 17 and 18—to separate himself from the field with a strong finish on both nines.

Ollie Osborne of Sacramento finished solo second with a 72 (+1), while three players tied at 73 (+2) to claim the final qualifying spots: Michael Nicoletti (Sacramento), Tyler Raber (El Macero), and Joey Vrzich (La Jolla). Osborne also led the field in birdies with six.

Ironwood C.C. (South Course), Palm Desert, Calif.

Kyle Karazissis and Leon Acikalin shared medalist honors at the Ironwood Country Club (South) U.S. Open local qualifier on May 13, each firing a 4-under 68 to top the leaderboard. Maxwell Moldovan (69), Michael Drake (70), and Dalan Refioğlu (70) also advanced to final qualifying. James Song and Paul Chaplet were among those who narrowly missed the cut at 1-under 71, earning first and second alternate spots.

Panther National, Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

Jessy Huebner (a) of Port Saint Lucie and Evan Katz of West Palm Beach, Florida, both fired 5-under-par 67s to share co-medalist honors at the U.S. Open Local Qualifier held May 13 at Panther National. Huebner surged with a front-nine 32, while Katz matched him with a 30 over his opening nine, navigating the 7,465-yard course with steady control and five birdies apiece.

Chase Johnson (-3), Noah Firestone (a) (-2), and Marco Steyn (a) (-1) also earned spots in Final Qualifying. Notably, three amateurs advanced, with Huebner, Firestone, and Steyn all marked by the (a) designation.

Richard Donegan (a) and Dean Martin (a) finished at -1 and secured first and second alternate positions, respectively.

RedHawk Golf Course, Nampa, Idaho

Chris Crisologo emerged as medalist at RedHawk Golf Course on Tuesday, May 13, firing a steady 3-under 68 on the par-71 layout to top the leaderboard and punch his ticket to Final Qualifying. The Canadian-born pro navigated the course’s long par 5s and firm fairways with poise, making four birdies to offset a lone bogey on No. 18.

Bj Staten, a veteran pro out of Cottonwood Heights, Utah, claimed solo second at 2-under 69, showing consistency and veteran course management down the stretch.


Firekeeper Golf Course, Mayetta, Kan.

Ben Sumada (a) of Parkville, Missouri, fired a sharp 5-under 67 to claim medalist honors at the U.S. Open Local Qualifier at Firekeeper Golf Course in Mayetta, Kansas. Playing a 7,205-yard course with a 74.3 rating and 129 slope, Sumada carded six birdies—including key back-to-back ones on holes 14 and 15—to top a tight leaderboard.

Jackson Drake (-4), Sam Saunders (-3), and Brandon Hoff (-3) rounded out the list of qualifiers, while Samuel James Bonaobra (a) and Charlie Hillier each shot 69 but were edged into alternate spots based on tiebreaks.

Worthington Manor G.C., Urbana, Md.

Jake Sollon of Venetia, Pennsylvania, claimed medalist honors at Worthington Manor Golf Club with a composed 3-under 69 on a course that played to a hefty 74.7 rating and Slope 145. Sollon played his final nine in 33 strokes, capitalizing on birdies at 13, 15, and 18 to edge out a tightly bunched field and secure a coveted spot in Final Qualifying.

Just one shot back was Zack Henry of Virginia, who carded a 70 (-2) to finish solo second. A trio tied for third at 71 (-1), including Ryan Siegler, George Duangmanee, and Jimmy Zheng, while Will Mullally (a) and Argyle Downes (a) rounded out the final two qualifying spots with even-par 72s.

Tommy Evans of West Virginia finished as first alternate after a 1-over 73.

Mark Goetz and amateur Timothy Peters shared medalist honors at Quicksilver Golf Club in Pennsylvania, each posting a 3-under 69 to lead the field. Nicholas Turowski (a) and Randy Dietz both shot 70 (-2) to comfortably advance, while Patrick Kelly (a) secured the final qualifying spot at 1-under 71. Nick Sorkin (a) and Ryan Smith, both even-par 72, were named first and second alternates, respectively. Goetz’s steady 33-36 round featured five birdies, while Peters carded three back-nine birdies to rebound from an early bogey-double stretch and finish strong.

A logjam atop the leaderboard defined the day at the Rhode Island qualifier, as five players tied for medalist honors at 4-under-par 68: James Hervol, Kevin Blaser (a), Rich Berberian, Dylan Gallagher (a), and Bryson Richards. All five secured qualifying spots in what was one of the most tightly bunched leaderboards of the season.

Just missing the cut were four players at 3-under 69, led by Fletcher Babcock, who earned 1st alternate, and Bobby Leopold (a), who was named 2nd alternate. The strength of play throughout the field was evident, as a score of 69—typically good enough to qualify—wasn’t enough to advance in this stacked regional.

Keswick Hall (Full Cry Course), Keswick, Va.

Three players—Seth Gandy, Ryan Cole, and Mark Lawrence Jr.—shared medalist honors at 4-under 68 to top the field and punch their tickets to Final Qualifying. Justin LaRue and Peter Mathison also advanced at 3-under 69, edging out a trio at 70.

Ben Cooper and Jay Woodson were named first and second alternates, respectively. Keswick’s firm layout tested shotmaking and patience, but the top five delivered under pressure.

Palouse Ridge G.C., Pullman, Wash.

Sean Walsh of Keller, TX—and member of the popular YouTube golf collective Good Good—torched Palouse Ridge with a 7-under 63 to earn medalist honors. He posted a bogey-free back nine (29) and outpaced a strong field. Also advancing were Brady Calkins and Troy Smith (67), while Josh Anderson and Skyler Finnell grabbed the final spots at 2-under 68. Notably, 2-under wasn’t enough for TJ Bordeaux, who missed the cut in a deep field.

Brendon Jelley of Scottsdale, Arizona, fired an impressive 7-under 65 to earn medalist honors at the U.S. Open Local Qualifier held May 12 at The Estancia Club in Scottsdale. On a demanding course rated 74.0 with a slope of 148, Jelley led a group of four qualifiers that included amateur Chip Getz (-4), Jim Knous (-3), and amateur Frederick Egnatios (-1). Michael Brueser (-1) and Nick Arman (E) were named first and second alternates, respectively. Despite firm competition and challenging conditions, players took advantage of scoring opportunities across the picturesque desert layout, with Jelley’s clean card and clutch birdies securing the top spot.

TPC Stonebrae Country Club, Hayward, Calif.

Brandon Harkins of Scottsdale, Arizona, led the field at the U.S. Open Local Qualifier held at TPC Stonebrae in Hayward, Calif., firing a 6-under 66 to claim medalist honors. Harkins’ round included seven birdies and an eagle on the par-5 17th, with just two bogeys on the card. Joining him in qualification were Caleb Shetler, Sam Baumuller (a), and Blake Bertrand, who all shot 2-under 70, and Alex Lee, who secured the final qualifying spot with a 1-under 71. Alternates included Alexander Yang (E, 72) and one additional player tied at even par. The hilly, demanding layout at Stonebrae tested every part of the players’ games, but Harkins separated himself with a scorching 4-under back nine.

Brentwood Country Club, Los Angeles, Calif.

Three players—Riley Lewis (Prescott, AZ), Luciano Conlan (a) (Haleiwa, HI), and Hill Wang (a) (Hacienda Heights, CA)—shared medalist honors at the U.S. Open Local Qualifier at Brentwood Country Club on May 12, each carding a 4-under 68 on the 6,925-yard layout. They were joined by Jared Abercrombie (a) and Noah Scavo (a), who posted rounds of 69 (-3) to claim the remaining two qualifying spots. With a course rating of 73.4 and slope of 135, players faced a fair but demanding test. Notably, each of the three medalists recorded steady play with four birdies and no worse than a bogey, while alternates Zachary Schwab and Colby Wilson (-2, 70) narrowly missed out in the tightly contested field.

Classic Club, Palm Desert, Calif.

On a challenging layout with a course rating of 75.2 and a slope of 143, five players advanced through U.S. Open Local Qualifying at Classic Club on May 12. Casey Adams (Olympia, WA) and Benjamin Lein (Diamond Bar, CA) shared medalist honors at 4-under 68, navigating the demanding 7,203-yard layout with composed ball striking and solid putting. Close behind were Eddie Zhang (a) and Joey Herrera, both finishing at 69 (-3), followed by Thomas Lehman (Scottsdale, AZ), who claimed the final qualifying spot with a 2-under 70. Two other players at 70—David Gazzolo and David Bradshaw—were designated as alternates. With firm greens and tough approach angles, Classic Club lived up to its reputation as a true test, but the qualifiers rose to the occasion with well-rounded performances.

Trey Shirley of Bardstown, Kentucky, fired a scorching 8-under 64 to take medalist honors at Heath Golf and Yacht Club, leading a group of seven players who advanced to Final Qualifying. He was followed closely by Evan Knight (-7), Gabe Reynolds (-6), and a pair at 5-under—Turk Pettit and amateur Luke Colton. The final two qualifying spots went to Gage Foddrell (a) and Jason Schultz, both at 4-under 68.

A notable storyline at the event was the presence of former NFL quarterback Tony Romo, who posted a solid 1-under 71 but missed the qualifying cut. Romo carded a back-nine 33 that included birdies on holes 10, 11, 12, and 14, but a double-bogey on the 17th ultimately left him short. He finished alongside a dozen others at 1-under, outside the top seven but demonstrating serious competitive golf chops.

Alternate spots were claimed by Jack Cunningham (-4, 68) and another player at the same score.

Fresno State senior Joseph Lloyd (Phoenix, AZ) found the Fazio-designed Preserve to his liking, recording eight birdies on his way to a 6-under 66. Bogeys on Nos. 9 and 18 were beside the point for Lloyd; he still had a 3-shot cushion over the three players who shot 69 to also advance. One of those, AJ Fitzgerald of Salinas, was runner-up in the 2023 San Francisco City Championship. 15-year-old Jack Denery shot a round of 6-under 66, earning medalist honors and low amateur honors. He recorded eight birdies and two bogeys, including birdies on holes No. 16, 17, and 18 to finish strong heading into the clubhouse. Denery won the 2024 AJGA Stacy Lewis. Full Field Results>

Andalusia Country Club, La Quinta, Calif.

John Kim earned low amateur honors and co-medalist honors after a round of 4-under 68 with six birdies and two bogeys. Kim tied at the top of the leaderboard with Gavin Cohen and Nick Delio. The other amateur to join Kim in advancing was Alejandro Alonso, who finished T4 at 3-under. He finished strong with birdies on holes No. 13, 14, 15, and 17 to head to final qualifying. The Club at Ruby Hill, Pleasanton, Calif.

Angelo Marcon, 2024 graduate of Notre Dame, carded an unmatched round of 9-under 63 that was highlighted by two eagles. Marcon eagled the par-5 No. 4 and par-4 No. 13 and also carded six birdies and just one bogey. Mason Browning recorded six birdies and one bogey to finish T2 at 5-under. Collindale Golf Course, Fort Collins, Colo.

Colorado sophomore Ty Holbrook shot an impressive 8-under 64 with eight birdies and no bogeys. He started off hot and never looked back, carding consecutive birdies on holes No. 1, 2, and 3 and then later on No. 11, 12, and 13. Walnut Creek Golf Preserve, Westminster, Colo.

All five qualifying spots were occupied by amateurs, with Charles Soule earning medalist and low amateur honors. Soule, a former University of Denver golfer and 2024 Colorado Mid-Amateur champion, recorded ten pars to open his round and finishing 1-under. Zach Gomez and Finn Olsen finished T2 and Benjamin Simpson and Brayden Boak finished T4 to all advance. Full Field Results>

Central Florida freshman Palmer Haynes shot an 8-under 64 with seven birdies, an eagle and a bogey to earn medalist honors by one shot over Joey Lussier. Andrew Swanson and Nino Palmquist were the other amateurs to join Haynes in advancing. Full Field Results>

There was only one amateur to advance to final qualifying from Laurel Creek, but he made a splash. Duke senior Luke Sample carded a round of 8-under 63 with an eagle, six birdies and no bogeys to earn medalist honors by a comfortable four shots. Full Field Results>

University of New Mexico Championship Golf Course, Albuquerque, N.M.

Mesa Falleur, a junior at New Mexico, lit up his home course and carded a 7-under 65 with an eagle, six birdies and one bogey. Falleur, a transfer from Kansas City earned low amateur honors and medalist and the championship course by two shots over the field. North Shore Country Club (Red/White Courses), Mequon, Wis.

Ross Thomson and Drake Wilcox tied for medalist and low amateur honors after shooting rounds of 4-under 68 to get to the top of the leaderboard. Thomson recorded a simple four birdies and no bogeys, while Wilcox bounced back from a double bogey on his opening hole, No. 10, with consecutive eagles on holes No. 13 and 14. Full Field Results>

Indian Ridge Country Club (Grove Course), Palm Desert, Calif.

Jayden Jun and Jason Bustos earned low amateur honors. They were the only amateurs to advance to final qualifying, after defeating fellow amateur Kristoffer Kuvaas in a playoff to finish 3-under and T4. Full Field Results>

The Grand Golf Club, San Diego, Calif.

Collegiate golfers dominated this qualifying site, with San Diego State standout Shea Lague carding a 7-under 65 with eight birdies. UC San Diego junior Nathan Tseng finished in solo second place at 5-under 67, while Lague's teammate at San Diego State, Jackson Moss, finished T3 at 4-under with University of Michigan freshman Caden Pinckes. Pensacola Country Club, Pensacola, Fla.

Wofford alumni Brent Whitehead earned medalist honors with an incredible 8-under 64. He recorded six birdies and an eagle, with no bogeys. The only amateur to join him in advancing to final qualifying is Auburn's Brendan Valdes, a member of the 2024 national championship team. Full Field Results>

Three of the five qualifying spots went to amateurs, with Alexandre Vandermoten finishing in solo second place at 4-under and Miles Eubanks and Andrew McLauchlan finishing T3 at 3-under. Full Field Results>

Wellington National Golf Club, Wellington, Fla.

Arth Sinha, a high school senior, shot an impressive 6-under 66 to earn medalist honors by one shot over fellow amateur and 14-year-old Matthew Marigliano. Sinha recorded seven birdies and one bogey, including consecutive birdies on holes No. 14 to 17 to get into the clubhouse. Briar Ridge Country Club, Schererville, Ind.

2025 Byron Nelson award winner and Illinois standout Jackson Buchanan earned low amateur and co-medalist honors after a round of under 67. Buchanan carded a 32 on the back nine with birdies on holes No. 12, 14, 17, and 18 to get into the clubhouse at 5-under. He tied Bryce Emory and Kelly Teek at 5-under for co-medalist honors. The talent at Illinois keeps replenishing, as freshman Jake Birdwell shot an incredible 10-under 62 with a 29 on the front nine and eagles on holes No. 5 and 8. He also recorded a perfect six birdies, two eagles, and no bogeys. Jackson Herrington, a freshman at Tennessee, also played great golf, shooting 9-under 63 with nine birdies and no bogeys. Crestview Country Club (North Course), Wichita, Kan.

Oklahoma State freshman Filip Fahlberg-Johnsson finished 6-under 66. The 6-under doesn't tell the full story, as he recorded an astonishing three eagles in his round. He eagled the par-5 No. 2, 6, and 14. He also recorded three birdies and three bogeys.

Johnsson helped Sweden capture the 2023 European Boys' Team Championship and also helped Sweden to the Bronze medal at the 2022 Toyota Junior World Cup. Full Field Results>

Northwest Golf Course, Silver Spring, Md.

Richmond junior Drew Carlin shot a round of 6-under 66 with seven birdies and one bogey to earn low amateur and medalist honors. Amateur Logan Reilly, who won the 2024 State Open of Virginia and 2024 Virginia State Amateur, finished T2 at 5-under. Full Field Results>

Caleb Bond recorded five birdies on the front nine to finish 4-under 68 and as the low amateur in solo second place. Ryan Gallagher also shot a 2-under 70 to finish in solo fourth place and earn the last spot in final qualifying at Eagle Eye. Full Field Results>

Ball State senior and native of Canada Braxton Kuntz earned low amateur and co-medalist honors with Ohio State alumni Jackson Chandler at 3-under 67. Bowling Green graduate senior Evan Johnson shot a 5-under 66 to earn medalist honors. He was 1-over through five holes, but played his last 13 holes at 6-under to propel to the top of the field. ABOUT THE U.S. Open Local Qualifying

18-hole stroke play qualifier open to male amateurs with a handicap of 0.4 and below. Players who advance will get to choose their top three sectional qualifying sites. The number of qualifying spots will depend on the size of the field.
