Utah, UNLV finish as co-champions at John Burns Intercollegiate

A stellar final round from UNLV saw the Rebels and Utah ultimately finish tied at the top of the leaderboard of the 2025 John Burns Intercollegiate at The Ocean Course at Hokuala in Lihue, Hawaii.
Both teams finished 22-under, ahead of the field by 12 shots. Utah came into the final round with a six-shot lead, but UNLV's 14-under 266 in the final round propelled them up the leaderboard to tie the Utes.
Utah carded consistent rounds of 273-272-273, while UNLV carded rounds of 280-272-266.
Santa Clara finished in solo third place at 10-under, and Long Beach State finished in solo fourth place at 5-under. Illinois, Texas A&M, and San Diego State finished T5 at 3-under to round out the top five.
In the individual competition, Gabriel Palacios of Utah and Zach Little of UNLV secured co-medalist honors at 11-under, both leading their teams to the team co-championship.
Palacios carded rounds of 68-66-65 to get to 11-under, while Little carded rounds of 71-63-65. The two golfers broke 200, shooting 199 in the three rounds and par 70.
Palacios and Little both birdied the last hole to get to 11-under. Palacios birdied holes No. 8 and 10 through 13 to jump into the lead early in the round.
Palacios is currently ranked No. 391 in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com World Rankings, while Little is ranked No. 98.
Sergio Jimenez of Utah finished in solo third place at 10-under. Jimenez led by two shots in the individual race heading into the final round and shot a 59 in a practice round earlier this week.
Jack Cantlay finished in solo fourth place at 8-under, and Max Herendeen of Illinois finished in solo fifth place at 6-under.
