U.S. Mid Amateur Hosted at Troon Country Club, Scottsdale, Arizona September 13 - 18, 2025
The road to the U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship begins this July with the application window beginning on April 16th. Each year, thousands of elite mid-amateurs (age 25 and older) tee it up in local qualifying across the country, all with the same dream—earning a spot in the championship.
Last year, Evan Beck ruled them all. A 34-year-old from Virginia with a day job in finance, thousands of hopefuls aim to replicate his story.
The best part about qualifying is the opportunity to play courses typically unavailable to the general public. From prestigious private clubs to renowned championship layouts, here are our picks for the top U.S. Mid-Amateur qualifying venues in 2025:
Conway Farms Golf Club (Lake Forest, Illinois)
A former host of multiple PGA Tour events, Conway Farms Golf Club offers a championship-caliber test. Designed by Tom Fazio, and is designed around Scottish links golf traditions. Competitors will need to bring a sharp short game and steady nerves to navigate this highly regarded track.
