The Georgia Bulldogs, ranked No. 37 nationally, delivered a clutch final round to take the team title at the Linger Longer Invitational at The Landing at Reynolds Lake Oconee in Greensboro, Georgia. Georgia posted a 54-hole total of 30-under, with rounds of 271-295-268, edging Alabama by two shots.
The Bulldogs entered the final round tied for second and trailing Alabama by five strokes. But with a closing 268, they stormed past the Crimson Tide, denying Alabama a third straight tournament victory. Alabama, which had dominated this event the past two years, finished runner-up at 28-under after rounds of 277-284-275.
Alabama had been the team to beat at Linger Longer, winning last year with a dominant 40-under performance led by Jonathan Griz and in 2023 with now-PGA Tour winner Nick Dunlap securing both the individual and team titles.
This time, the Tide couldn’t complete the three-peat. USF took third at 21-under, with South Carolina finishing fourth at 12-under.
On the individual side, USF senior Shubham Jaglan, a former top amateur from India, went wire-to-wire to claim his first collegiate title. He fired rounds of 64-68-72 to finish at 12-under 204, holding off the competition to seal the win.
Jaglan has previously represented India at the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship in 2021 and 2023, where he finished T-11 and T-28 respectively.
Georgia managed to place its five players inside the top 10. Sophomore Grayson Woodand Alabama senior Connor Brown finished T-2 at 9-under, while Georgia graduate student George Langham finished T-6 at 6-under.
Senior Buck Brumlow followed at T-8 with a 5-under total, while freshman Matt Moloney and sophomore Camden Smith, playing as an individual, both finished T-9 at 4-under.
Statistically, Georgia led the field in Par-3 and Par-4 scoring with averages of 2.93 and 3.97, respectively. The team also ranked second on Par-5s with a 4.72 average and tied Alabama for the most birdies and pars, with both teams recording 65 birdies and 172 pars.
