Lauryn Nguyen leads Northwestern to sweep and three-peat at Silverado Showdown

Lauryn Nguyen led the Wildcats to their third straight victory at the Silverado Showdown at Silverado Country Club & Resort, North Course, in Napa, Calif.
Nguyen carded rounds of 70-68-69 to get to 9-under and secure a convincing four-shot lead over the talented field. This was Nguyen's second career collegiate win.
Nguyen is currently ranked No. 38 in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com Women's Rankings. She also won the 2023 Windy City Collegiate and 2022 PNGA Women's Amateur Championship.
She finished the event shooting 50 of 54 holes at or below par and making 13 birdies.
Catherine Park of USC and Constance Fouillet of California finished T2 at 5-under, and Kylie Chong of USC and Kaitlyn Zermeno Smith of CSU Fullerton finished T4 at 4-under to round out the top five.
Northwestern won the team title for the third straight season, holding off USC by one shot after finishing 3-under as a team, and USC finished in solo second place at 2-under.
The Wildcats carded rounds of 287-291-283, and the Trojans carded rounds of 290-286-286. USC entered the day with a two-shot lead, but the Wildcats 5-under 283 final round saw them erase the deficit and win by one shot.
Iowa State finished in solo third place at 3-over, California finished in solo fourth place at 12-over, and Oregon finished in solo fifth place at 13-over to round out the top five.
