LIVE SCORING: Scottish Men's Open at North Berwick
North Berwick, Scotland (June 1, 2025) – England's
Eliot Baker has won the 2025 Scottish Men’s Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship in commanding fashion, finishing at
20-under-par (264) to secure a seven-shot victory at
North Berwick Golf Club.
Baker closed with a 4-under 67, capping a stunning week that included rounds of 67, 66, and 64. His nearest challengers, Billy Dowling of Australia and Kayun Mudadana, finished at -13 and -12 respectively, unable to keep pace with Baker’s steady brilliance and birdie barrage.
The leaderboard was packed with international talent. American Emil Riegger surged into fourth at -11, while Germany’s Marian Ludwig and England’s Daniel Hayes shared fifth at -8. A cluster at -7 included Tom Osborne (England), Timothy Chan (Hong Kong), Dian Kruger (South Africa), and Ben Brown (England).
Baker’s win adds his name to an illustrious list of champions including Tommy Fleetwood, Colin Montgomerie, and Richie Ramsay. His bogey-free back nine, highlighted by a clutch birdie on the closing hole, sealed one of the most dominant performances in the tournament’s history.
The win cements Baker’s place as one of Europe’s top amateur prospects and puts him on track for further opportunities this summer in elite international events. North Berwick once again provided a thrilling championship stage, combining historic charm with modern excellence.
