Charles Warren capped off a dominant week at the 2025 Rice Planters Amateur with a steady final-round 69 to finish at 201 (-15), securing a one-shot victory over Connor Doyal of Auburn.

The Wofford College junior opened the week with rounds of 68 and 64, then fended off a fierce charge from Doyal, who closed with 68 to finish just one shot back at 202 (-14). Warren’s final round featured five birdies, including two clutch ones on holes 15 and 16, to hold off the field and seal the win. His poise in the closing stretch—where so many stumble—was the difference maker.

Doyal was brilliant again on Friday, building on his Round 2 63 with another aggressive effort. Tyler Sabo (Ohio State) rounded out the top three at 203 (-13) with three consistent rounds of 71-66-66.

Jack Crousore of Minnesota posted the low round of the day—63—to surge into a T4 finish. Zachary Frazer (Furman), Patton Samuels (Austin Peay), and Miles Eubanks (Charleston) also finished inside the top 10.

The routing is tree-lined but fair, with small, elevated Bermuda greens that demand confident approach play and excellent touch. Water hazards and forced carries appear late in the round, including on the picturesque par-3 16th and drivable par-4 17th—two holes that have shaped many past champions.

What makes Snee Farm shine is its balance of risk and restraint. Birdie runs are possible—especially on the front nine—but double bogeys lurk when players miss on the short side or misjudge the wind. The closing stretch (holes 15–18) is among the most dynamic in Southeastern amateur golf and guarantees drama during the final round.
