Filip Jakubčík is the 2025 European Amateur Champion, making history as the first player from the Czech Republic to win the title at Sweden’s Vasatorp Golfklubb. He closed with a superb 67 (-5) on Saturday to finish at -8 overall, five shots clear of Denmark’s Kristian Bressum.

Jakubčík seized control early in the final round with four birdies on the front nine. Despite a brief challenge from Finland’s Sakke Siltala, he pulled away with a clutch birdie at 16 after his only bogey of the day at 15. Siltala secured bronze at -4, while Wolfgang Glawe (GER) and Matteo Cristoni (ITA) tied fourth at -3.

Meanwhile, Scotland’s Cameron Adam finished in the top 10 to earn a coveted exemption into The Open Championship at Royal Portrush next month via the R&A’s Open Amateur Series.

Filip Jakubčík delivered a brilliant final-round 67 (-5) at Vasatorp Golfklubb to become the first Czech player to win the European Amateur Championship. He finished at -8 (280 total), five shots clear of Denmark’s Kristian Bressum.

Jakubčík took command with four birdies on the front nine and sealed the title with a crucial birdie on 16 after his only bogey of the day at 15. “It’s amazing, unreal,” he said. “I was trying not to look at the leaderboard, just focus on my game. It worked out well.”

Finland’s Sakke Siltala claimed bronze at -4, while Wolfgang Glawe (GER) and Matteo Cristoni (ITA) tied fourth at -3. Both Jakubčík and Scotland’s Cameron Adam, who earned his Open spot via the Amateur Series, will tee it up at Royal Portrush next month.

📍 Venue and Format

Vasatorp’s Tournament Course is an open, undulating 6,735-meter par-72 layout designed by Arthur Hills and Steve Forrest. The championship is a 72-hole stroke play event with cuts after 36 and 54 holes. A three-hole playoff decides the winner if needed.

The premier championship in Europe, conducted by the European Golf Association, which is comprised of 38 member countries. 72 hole stroke play format. After 54 holes the field is cut to the leading 60 players and ties. The winner earns a spot in the British Open.
