Malcolm Bund is not someone who is well known in golf circles, as for 42 years since he moved to the States; he has kept a low profile, working for a living. About all he did golf wise before 2005 was win the Pelham Country Club (New York) club championship in 1974 just after he graduated from The Wharton School and then in 2005 with his college age son, Geoffrey, on his bag he failed to make match play in the Senior Amateur at The Farm in Dalton, GA.

But in 1975 Malcolm Bund married Eve Benton. On the occasion of their 35th wedding anniversary, playing at one of his favorite courses in the whole world, Malcolm Bund made his first hole in one. The course was Farmington Country Club (Charlottesville, VA., circa 1927), hole number 2, 189 yards uphill to a postage stamp and into a breeze was a well struck 4 hybrid (Cobra Pro with a Yellow Speeder shaft) and one hop and a gentle roll in it went.

No one observed this smooth, well struck hybrid but Malcolm’s’ wife (forced to celebrate 35 years of hell being married to a golfer) and their service dog, Henry Higgins VII.

Malcolm finished the round from the black (back) tees on this par 70 track (rated at 73.1/136) with a 74.

As we said Malcolm Bund is not so well known in golf circles but he has been around golf in many different ways not only as a player but also as the business manager of some of the greatest players. You see Mark McCormack hired Malcolm when, as a rising junior in a college in Sydney, Australia, Malcolm convinced the super star agent that he needed as his 13th executive some international blood if IMG was truly to be boasting its worldwide roots!
