EL CAJON, CA (June 18, 2010)--Estanislao Guerrero from Tijuana, Mexico is the 2010 Southwestern Amateur Champion firing a 65 (-5) for a 72-hole total of 273 (-7) to come from 2 strokes back and winning by 2 strokes over Bryan Martin and Joseph Harrison.
"Winning in San Diego was special being close to home, but unfortunately my family didn't get to see it with Mexico in the World Cup" said Guerrero. "Birdies on 5 and 6 got my round started. I played steady for the middle of the round then birdied 15 from 3 feet, 16 from 30 feet and just missing an eagle on 17. Didn't have any bogeys. I grew up playing around here so that probably was an advantage."
