2010 Canadian Men’s Mid-Amateur Champion

Bunker carded 3 birdies during his final round finishing with a four-round total of 279 (-5). After winning the championship three consecutive times Bunker doesn’t credit luck entirely.

“It’s some luck, but I do practice a lot,” laughs Bunker.

“It’s pretty exciting, I played well the first three rounds, gave myself some breathing room. I struggled a little with my shots today. I made it closer than I really wanted it to, it got kind of exciting there for a few holes.”

With his score, Bunker also nabbed 40 and over mid-masters division for a fifth time in a row.

With the win, Bunker earned an exemption into the 2011 RBC Canadian Open to be held at the storied Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club in Vancouver, B.C., which will be his second appearance in Canada’s only stop on the PGA TOUR.

“I didn’t have any other expectations this year other than do my best and hopefully hit some good shots which I did. Definitely next year my goal will be to make the cut.”

Tied for second was David Arnold of Brooklin, Ont., (71-70-70-72-283 -1), and Craig Doell of Victoria, B.C., (71-72-69-71-283 -1).

“Anything is possible in golf you know, one hole you could have a one or two shot swing,” said Doell.

“As I got closer I started thinking if I can hit a few good shots and putts, unfortunately I made bogey on 15 and Dave made birdie and that was really the cincher for him.”
