William Hyndman Memorial Cancelled Due to Weather's Effects on Course
Combination of summer heat and recent storms have shut down the Huntingdon Valley course and have forced the cancellation of the event
HUNTINGDON VALLEY, PA (August 25, 2010)--The William Hyndman Memorial Tournament Committee has announced the cancellation of the 2010 event:
"It is with deep regret that we announce the cancelation of the 2010 William Hyndman III Memorial Tournament. Severe storms this week and intense heat has caused severe damage to the course's infrastructure, closed 18 holes and affected much damage to many of our fairways. Plans to open again will not be earlier than September 1. We have therefore decided to cancel this year's event as we know the course will not recover by the tournament dates. We much appreciate your understanding and look forward to continuing the Tournament next year."
