Lutz Wins by 12 at Sunnehanna Senior
JOHNSTOWN, PA (Sept. 15, 2010) -- Chip Lutz continued his incredible year by chalking up another victory. This time it was the Sunnehanna Senior Amateur Championship played this week at Sunnehanna Country Club in Johnstown, Pa. His score of 65-72-67--204 was 12 shots clear of second place finisher Bill Zylstra (74-70-72--216).
Ian Harris took third with scores of 74-73-70--217, and Ted Smith was solo fourth with scores of 76-71-73--220.
In the Super Senior division Fred Silver claimed the title with scores of 74-74-75--223. Yancy Ford came up one short at 73-81-70--224. Walt Martin took third with scores of 77-73-74--224.
What Lutz did this season is nothing short of stellar. He has racked up 6 victories in amateurgolf.com/Golfweek ranked events including the Golfweek Senior Championship, the Trans-Mississippi Senior, the North & South Senior, the Lupton Invitational and the Society of Seniors Spring Classic. He also finished second at the British Senior Amateur and the National Senior Hall of Fame. Throw in a tie for fourth at the Senior Porter Cup last week with a fifth place finish at the Coleman invitational and you have a year that is quite special.
