Not only was 18-year-old La Jolla Country Day High School Senior Anthony Paolucci the low amateur at the 2011 Farmer’s Insurance Open, he also made the cut by two shots and carded a top 30 finish with scores of 70-71-72-72—285 against a stacked field of seasoned PGA Tour veterans.

Paolucci was first off the South course for this morning’s final round at 8:05 and struggled early. He got by the difficult 1st and 4th holes but stumbled with bogeys at the par-4 2nd, the short par-4 4th and the par-5 6th. He would bounce back however with impressive birdies at the tough par-4 7th hole and the 614 yard par-5 ninth hole.

On the back nine he stumbled with bogeys on the tenth and eleventh holes but then recovered with consecutive birdies on holes 12, 13 and 14. After a late bogey on 17, he bombed a 336 yard drive down the 18th setting up a mid-iron shot to 25 feet and a two-putt birdie.

The LJCD Senior had a decent gallery following him all week. “It was awesome,”said Paolucci. “I just felt support there. If I hit a good shot or made a putt, you've got the support there to keep going and keep plugging away. I think it was very beneficial for me today.”
