In North Carolina, Ams rally to win Tar Heel Cup
WEST END, North Carolina (March 29, 2011) -- The Carolinas PGA Professionals took a one point lead into the singles matches and hung on to retain the cup. The Matches ended in a 6 - 6 tie for the second year in a row. The Amateurs made a fierce come back on the back after being down by 2½ points with three matches yet to be decided.
The charge started with Will Bowman winning the 18th hole to square his match and secure ½ point.
In perhaps the match of the day, Uly Grisette rallied from 2 down to defeat his home club pro John Faidley by a 3 & 2 margin. The tie was in the last match secured by Scott Harvey when he too came from a 2 down deficit to defeat Paul Dickens 2 up. The Professionals lead in the matches with 13 to just 2 for the Amateurs.
