AGC Two Man Links: 54-hole results
BANDON, Oregon (May 3, 2011) -- With just one round to play, Jeff Newton and Chuck Parsons hold a huge lead in the Senior Division. (Despite shooting over par today at Old MacDonald, the wind-swept links course didn't yield many red numbers to any scratch teams.)
Gary Friend and brother Stephen did gain a look at the Senior leaders by posting the low round of the day for their division, a 73. They will play with Newton and Parsons at Bandon Dunes in the final round.
In the Championship Division, not a round in the 60's has been posted but all players are hoping to bust into the red on Wednesday at Bandon Dunes. Erik Hallgrimson and Wayne McClintock (225) of Northern California lead by three strokes over the balance of the field, who all stand tied at 228.
NET LEADERS LOOKING TO GO WIRE-TO-WIRE
Tim Burke and Robert Miller of Southern California posted an even-par 71 at Old MacDonald, keeping a four stroke lead (11-under Net for 54-holes) heading into the final round. But they are trailed by a new set of players, the brother team of Mike and Steve Suttman, veterans of this event.
Defending champs George and Michael Stevens are tied for third at 209 with Chad Clark and David Deberry. Deberry aced the second hole at Bandon Trails on Monday.
Stay tuned for a full story from the tournament on Wednesday after the round.
