West Virginia: Pagliaro, Yanero lead Senior Four-Ball
MORGANTOWN, West Virg. (May 7, 2011) -- Fairmont’s Scott Pagliaro and Bobby Yanero are leaders of the clubhouse after the first round of the 2011 WV Senior Four-Ball Championship at Lakeview Resort in Morgantown. The dynamic duo fired a 3-under-par 69 on the demanding course. With the past month’s extremely rainy weather conditions, combined with fast greens, the course proved to be a true test of golf for the entire field, which features some of West Virginia’s best senior amateur golfers.

Following behind the leaders in a four-way tie are 2010 Champions, Steve Fox, of Huntington, and Harold Payne, of Hurricane. Oak Hill’s Joel Davis and Beckley’s Tom Broyles, Hurricane’s John Duty, Sr. and St. Albans’ Al Estepp, and Morgantown’s Dick Bolen and Ronald Gacek are also sitting at even-par for the day.

It’s a three-way tie for the lead in the Senior Flight, where Beckley’s Sam Corey and Daniels’ Butch Freeman, Hurricane’s Jim Hager and Jack Richards, and Melvin Mattison and Larry Simpson, also of Hurricane, all shot a 5-over-par 78.

Tomorrow’s final round will begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. To view hole-by-hole results from today, as well as pairings for the final round, visit www.wvga.org.
