Anderson Memorial Four-Ball: Smith & Crockett Win
MAMARONECK, NY (June 5, 2011) -- Parker Smith and partner Dan Crocket of The Country Club won the championship division of the 2011 Anderson Memorial over John Kemp and Mark Wharton of John O'Gaunt Golf Club today by a score of 3 and 2. This is the second title for Smith, who won last year with Philip Breeding
In the Senior Division, Chris Lange and partner Chip Lutz of Pine Valley defeated defending champions John Benson and Don Erickson III of Punxsutawney CC by a score of 6 and 4.
The John G. Anderson Memorial Four-Ball Invitational is one of the country's premiere amateur events. Created in 1933 to honor Winged Foot founding member and two time U.S. Amateur runner-up John G. Anderson, the event consists of a 36 hole qualifier followed by two days of match play competition in both Championship and Senior divisions.
