Birmingham Nat'l Inv: Kennedy wins third
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (June 6, 2011) -- Greg Kennedy won the Country Club of Birmingham's National Invitational for the second time in three years on Sunday, finishing with a closing round 67 to win by three shots.
"The staff, the golf course, the tournament, they are all first-class," the Duluth, Ga., native said of winning the mid-amateur title.
He had rounds of 72-70-67--209 for a 4-under-par total over the West Course.
Jack Hall of Savannah, Ga., was second (70-70-72--212), while Woodie Eubanks of Trussville (69-74-72) and Steve McDonald of Nashville (72-72-71) tied for third at 215.
