BIRMINGHAM, Alabama (June 26, 2011) -- Georgia Tech University rising junior Bo Andrews made up a couple of strokes in his final round to claim the 2011 Greystone Invitational championship June 26 at the Founders Course at Greystone Golf and Country Club.

Andrews, who entered the final round of the 11th annual Invitational in a two-way tie for second place in individual standings, carded a 3-under par in the fourth round to capture the tournament championship. Andrews finished with a tournament total of 6-under par 282 in the Invitational.

Andrews edged Georgia State University rising sophomore Grant Cagle and Clemson University rising senior McCuen Elmore by one stroke for the title. Cagle and Elmore each fired a tournament total 5-under par 283.

Elmore held the lead entering the final day of the tournament before carding an even par 72 in the final round.

Auburn University signee Michael Johnson, a recent Spain Park High School graduate, led Shelby County golfers in the Invitational with his tournament total of 1-over par 289. Johnson finished in a three-way tie for fourth place in individual standings.

ABOUT THE Greystone Invitational

72-hole tournament, cut to the low 60 plus ties after 36 holes. Committee accepts the lowest 124 applicants based on USGA index signed by a golf professional. Greystone CC slope is 146 and the rating 74.1. It was designed by Rees Jones in 2000. The Legacy Course is a magnificent test of golf. Out of state players are encouraged to apply.
