FAR HILLS, N.J. (Sept. 5, 2011) -- The final qualifying is now complete for the 25th annual USGA Women's Mid Amateur to be contested at Bayville Golf Club in Virginia Beach, Virginia September 17 through 22. The Fazio designed track will be hosting it's first USGA championship.
At the Northern California site at La Rinconada Country Club in Los Gatos the qualifiers were:

It should be noted that two of the California qualifers, Sharon Park of Irvine and Lynne Cowan of Davis will also be competing along with Joan Higgins of Glendale, the 2008 Mid-Am champion, in the USGA Women's State Championship to be held October 4-6 in Savannah, Georgia.
The two low scorers from all the qualifiers across the country shooting 72 were Kim Eaton of Greeley, Colorado and Martha Linscott of Kansas City, Missouri.
Set to defend her title is the 2010 champion Megan Stasi of Oakland Park, Florida who will attempt to win her fourth Mid Amateur.

U.S. Women's Mid-Am Qualifying
The U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur qualifier is open to
all
female competitors with an Index of 9.4 or lower
who
will be at least 25 years of age at the start of the
championship. Format is 18-holes of stroke play.
