Stephen Summers
2011 Crump Cup Champion
PINE VALLEY, NJ (Oct. 2, 2011) -- Stephen Summers of Dallas, TX won the 87th Annual Crump Memorial Tournament at Pine Valley Golf Club. He defeated Kelly Miller of Southern Pines, NC 4 and 3 in the final.
The final match victory wasn't a walk in the park for Summers, but anything would have been easier on the nerves than his semifinal win over defending champion Mike McCoy of Iowa in 21 holes.
"The match with Mike was one of the coolest things I've ever been a part of," said Summers. "He holed out twice to halve holes, and hit one off a tree limb to save par. We went to the third hole of sudden death."
Miller defeated Brian Komline of Bridgewater,NJ in the semi-finals.
George Zahringer III of New York, NY defeated James Holtgrieve of St. Louis, MO 5 and 4.

includes three of those flights. Jay Sigel has won

Normally, the public is invited to attend the Sunday
final matches but that tradition has been suspended.
