Bianchini/Simson lead at the Crane Cup Invitational

PALM CITY, Fla (Jan. 27, 2012) -- Matt Bianchini of Naples fired a first round 2-under-par 70 to lead the Mid-Am division of the Crane Cup invitational being held at the Floridian Golf Club. Ken Watford of Franklin, Tenn is a stroke back with 71 while San Pierce from Houston, Tx and Steve Harwell are tied for third with opening rounds of 72.
In the Senior division Paul Simson finds himself in familiar territory. The Raleigh, NC resident carded a first round 72 and leads by two strokes over Buzz Peel from Delray Beach, Fl. and Hunter Nelson from Houston, Tx.
This is the inaugural 54-hole scratch stroke play event with Mid-Am and Senior Divisions, hosted by the recently redesigned (Tom Fazio) Floridian in Palm City, Florida. Tournament Director Kevin Marsh is a USGA Mid-Amateur champion and has already attracted a strong field of committed players for this invitational tournament
