Thousand Oaks City Championship: Ramirez on Top
THOUSAND OAKS, CALIFORNIA (October 9, 2005) -- While none of the leaders was able to birdie the finishing hole at the Amex World Golf Championship at San Francisco's Harding Park, John Ramirez was able to avoid a sudden-death playoff by ending things from the middle of the fairway at Los Robles Golf Course.

Ramirez, playing a group in front of the leaders, stood tied with Brycen Wagner (who was playing in the final group) at 10-under-par. From 125 yards out, Ramirez holed a wedge for eagle, creating a buzz around the clubhouse and all but sealing his victory in the well-attended event. Wagner finished second at 134, while the trio of golfers tied for third at 138 included amateurgolf.com Mission Viejo Championship winner Jason Pridmore, who shot the round of the tournament with a 7-under-par 65 on Sunday.

Results were reported by Randy Knight of the Los Robles staff. The event was put on by Head Professional John Barr, PGA and First Assistant John Billin.
