Two Man Links at Bandon Dunes: 36 hole results
Tishkoff's gross eagle on No. 13 was the shot of the day
Tishkoff's gross eagle on No. 13 was the shot of the day

BANDON, Oregon (April 30, 2012) -- Mother nature threw some water on players during the second round of the Two Man Links Championship today, but the golf gods shined on several teams who are emerging from the pack after 36 holes.

One of those teams, Stephen Elsass and Marc Tishkoff of Ohio, kept leaders David DeBerry and Chad Clark, M.D. in sight by firing an 8-under 63 for a net best-ball total of 15-under 127. Tishkoff hit the shot of the tournament (so far) on the par-4 13th hole. After a solid drive, he holed an 8-iron for eagle, looked at his partner, and complained "I can't believe I don't even get a stroke there!"

DeBerry and Clark, for their part, recorded two net eagles on the front nine (DeBerry on the 363 yard 4th, Clark on the 299 yard 8th) in posting a 7-under 29. They had the field in their rear view mirrors, but ran out of birdies on the back nine, where they posted 35 for a best-ball 64. They will sleep on a two stroke lead.

In the Senior Division, first time competitors David Ujihara and Gary Wing from Brea, and Irvine, California respectively, put themselves four strokes in front of Tab French (Walnut Creek, Calif.) and Steve Warda (Turlock, Calif.) by posting a solid 72 gross best ball in some of the day's rainiest conditions. French and Warda were the only senior team to break par, firing a solid 2-under 69.

In the Championship Division, Pete Davison and Pete Wlodkowski (74, 145) lead the team of Tom McKee and Tom Blanchard (76, 152) by six strokes, while the teams of Eric Berridge/Alex Cushner (75, 153) and Chris Hauswirth/Greg Jones (79, 153) are a stroke out of second place.

Tomorrow's third round of this 72 hole event will be played at Old Macdonald, concurrently with another important event at the resort -- the grand opening of the new Bandon Preserve 13 hole layout which looks spectacular.
