Gallande defends Metro Womens Amateur Championship

St. Louis, MO (June 19, 2012) -- Shweta Galande had a 2-shot lead coming to the 18 Tee on Tuesday afternoon over 12-time champion Ellen Port, they would walk off the 18 Green at Algonquin Golf Club tied. Believed to be the first play-off in the 20 year history, the two competitors would go back to the par 5 18th to decide this championship.
Galande would make birdie on the hole she just made double-bogey on 15 minuted earlier to defend her title and have her name engraved on the Jayne M. Watson Trophy.
In the other flights, Nannette Baker would have back-to-back Even par rounds of Net 71 to claim the A Flight title and Pat Otoole would claim B Flight with rounds of Net 77-74. See all of the results via the links below.
