Leader board packed at Sahalee

SAMMAMISH, Wash. (July 4, 2012) -- Tain Lee held the early lead in the first round of the 2012 Sahalee Players Championship.
Tain fired a five-under 67 in Round 1, besting a host of top-notch competitors.
Defending champion Chris Williams was 4-under after Round 1 and well within contention.
Just two shots back of Lee was Joseph Winslow and Dimitrios Papadatos, who both shot 3-under 69.
Beau Hossler, who caught America's attention at the U.S. Open two weeks ago, was three shots behind Lee with a 2-under 70.
Second-round play will be Thursday.

Championship (SPC) was a major summer amateur
event until 2019 when it was
discontinued. In 2023, it was converted into a college
event hosting the top men's
teams in the country. Team (best four scores out of five
