Member Wesley Boudreaux wins First Tee Open contest
PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (July 10, 2012) -- Amateurgolf.com member Wesley Boudreaux lived the golfer's dream last week. He played golf with legend Hale Irwin at Pebble Beach.
As part of a recent promotion on amateurgolf.com in conjunction with this past weekend’s Champions Tour Nature Valley First Tee Open, Boudreaux won the chance to play with a Champions Tour player. When he arrived at Pebble Beach, the experience became even better when he learned who his playing partner would be.
“Hale couldn't have been nicer and both his caddie, Rocky and grandson, Dillon were great company on the course,” Boudreaux said. “Dillon and Hale were great together and it was nice to see how much of a family man he was.
Wesley said they spent the time during the round talking about Irwin’s victories, dealing with pressure, course architecture and families.
Following the round, Wesley met with Jim Thorpe and Craig Stadler, and chatted with Ben Crenshaw, who he was originally slated to play with before a scheduling change.
