Chip Lutz earns low am honors at Sr. British Open
Chip Lutz
TURNBERRY, Scotland (July 29, 2012) -- Chip Lutz secured low amateur honors at the 2012 Senior British Open, placing in a tie for 35th place.
Lutz, from Reading, Penn., shot a final-round 76 to finish 70-76-67-76--289 (9-over) at Turnberry.
Lutz bested longtime competitor on the amateurgolf.com circuit Randy Haag, who took low amateur honors at last year's Senior Open Championship.
Haag shot a final-round 72 but it wasn't enough to catch Lutz. Haag's 74-74-78-72--298 was good enough to put him at 18-over and in 68th place.
