McGee rallies for Sr. Porter Cup win

LEWISTON, N.Y. (Sept. 10, 2012) -- Mac McGee fired bookend 68s to claim the 2012 Senior Porter Cup at Niagara Falls Country Club.
McGee opened with a Round 1 68, trailing only Mike McNulty on the leaderboard. He stumbled in Round 2 with a 74 but was able to bounce back well with a final-round 68 that gave him a four-shot victory as the field fell back.
Larry Cooper (72-71-71--214) and Duke Delcher (70-73-71--214) tied for second place while Paul Schlachter took fourth at 70-73-72--215.
McNulty, who led through two rounds, shot 67-74-77--218 to finish tied for eighth.

Senior Porter Cup
The Senior Porter Cup is an invitational
amateur
event conducted at stroke play over 54 holes.
The
Tournament Committee reserves the right to
invite players of national and international
reputation to participate. Contestants are
selected
on the basis of their competitive record and
accomplishments in major amateur and senior
amateur tournaments. Players must be at least
55
years of age prior to beginning of tournament.
The Senior division was added to the annual
Porter Cup Invitational in 1992 and has been
played as as a separate tournament since
2008.
