Dahl, Knoll take Salinas Valley titles

SALINAS, Calif. (Oct. 21, 2012) -- Ian Dahl fired a final-round 64 at Salinas Fairways to win the 2012 Salinas Valley Amateur Championship by four shots over Andrew Rodriquez.
Fresh off his run to the semifinal round at the USGA Senior, Jim Knoll defended his Senior Division title, beating Antioch's Mark Miller on the second hole of a sudden-death playoff. Both players were 3-under at the end of regulation.
In the handicap flights, Jerry Armstrong and Pat Taporco won Flight 1, Carnel Austin took Flight 2 and Dev Rahal won Flight 3.

NCGA points event. Format is 36 Holes of
Individual Stroke Play. The field will consist of the
following
flights: Championship (Black Tees); Senior
Gross (55 and over - Blue Tees); Super-Senior Gross
(65 and over – White Tees);
and one or more Net Flights. Women competing in
Championship Flight
will play from the Black tees and play from the Red
tees in the Net Flights.
Number of Net Flights based on number of entries.
Open to any amateur
with
an established handicap index.
