New Year's Invitational: Toni Hakula maintains lead

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (Jan. 5, 2013) -- Toni Hakula remains in the lead after three rounds of play at the 2013 New Year's Invitational at St. Petersburg Country Club.
Hakula, of the Texas Longhorns, fired a 70 on Saturday, which followed up a red-hot 65 in Round 2. He leads by two entering the final round on Sunday.
Lee McCoy, one of the first-round leaders, is two shots back after a third-round 71.
David Lee shot a second straight 69 and trails by three in third place. Michael Miller and first-round co-leader Blake Morris are four shots behind Hakula and tied for fourth place.
The event features many of the country's top NCAA and upcoming elite amateur golfers.
Joe Alfieri and Matt Giovannelli are tied atop the mid-am division while Tom Hyland holds a 10-shot lead in the senior division.

The 2025 New Year's Invitational Champion will earn an exemption into the LECOM Suncoast Classic, a Korn Ferry Tour event.
