LA QUINTA, Calif. (Feb. 21, 2013) -- USC and Washington shared the title Feb. 20 at The Prestige at PGA West’s Norman Course in La Quinta, Calif. The Pac-12 rivals finished at 1-under 851, five shots clear of UCLA and Texas Tech.

USC, No. 8 in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings, shot 6-under 278, the final round’s only sub-par score, to catch No. 3 Washington, which shot 286 Wednesday. This was the second consecutive first-place finish for Washington, which tied UCLA at the Amer Ari Invitational before losing in a playoff. USC finished third in all three of its fall stroke-play starts before a fourth-place showing at the Amer Ari.

UCLA’s Pedro Figueiredo won the individual title, shooting 8-under 205 (71-67-67) to finish five shots ahead of the field. USC’s Anthony Paolucci, Oklahoma State’s Jordan Niebrugge and Washington’s Chris Williams finished second. The victory was the second of Figueiredo’s career.

Paolucci collected his third consecutive top-10 finish. He was fifth at the Gifford Collegiate and 10th at the Amer Ari. Williams, the world’s No. 1 amateur, picked up his third runner-up finish in five starts this season.
