Leadbetter wins Women's Southern Am
KILLEN, Ala. (May 24, 2013) -- Hally Leadbetter captured the 2013 Amateur title on the 33rd hole of the 36 hole final on Friday.
Leadbetter, from Bradenton, Fla., managed to gain momentum in the match on the 26th hole. Leadbetter stuck her tee shot over 115 yards of water carry right next to the pin for a birdie. Opponent, Laura Wearn of Charlotte, NC, never quite managed to recover and match the focus of Leadbetter, who ran the lead to 4 up.
Leadbetter has plans to have The WSGA Trophy on display at the University of Arkansas trophy case until a new Champion is crowned in Oklahoma City, OK, next June at Gaillardia Golf and Country, Club
