SPRINGFIELD, N.J. (July 19, 2013) -- Kris Mikkelsen and Carlton Forester survived a playoff with Nick and Nick Desai to win the 2013 Baltusrol Invitational at Baltusrol Golf Club.

The winners, who both play out of the Golf Club of Georgia, finished tied at 3-under after regulation with Team Desai.

Mikkelsen buried a 25-footer on the second playoff hole to win it.

Mikkelsen and Forester are now three time champions in the two-day, 54-hole event at famed Baltusrol.

ABOUT THE Baltusrol Invitational

Founded in 1975, The Baltusrol Invitational is a Mid- Amateur invitational team tournament played at New Jersey's Baltusrol Golf Club over two days in August. The two-day tournament starts with 36 holes of golf, (1) round of better ball and (1) round of foursomes, on the Lower Course. The second day format is aggregate medal play on the Upper Course, allowing for a 72-hole score for each team.

Both courses have been painstakingly restored by golf architect Gil Hanse -- the Lower opened for play in 2021 and the Upper in 2025. Most players in the field will enjoy staying in the historic clubhouse, with those finishing highest being given the first opportunity to take advantage of clubhouse accommodations the following year, should they return to play.
