SPRINGFIELD, N.J. (July 19, 2014) -- Ronald and David DeNunzio combined to shoot 69-64-144--277 to win by a shot at the 2014 Baltusrol Invitational.

The DeNunzio twins shot a remarkable 64 in the foursomes competition, which set them apart from the field.

Keith Unkel and Mike Pearson, representing Congressional Country Club, took solo second place.

Tied for third was Michael Affeldt and Michael Castleforte of Butler National and the team of Frank Fairman and Nathan Smith, the four-time U.S. Mid-Amateur champion, who were both representing Punxsutawney Country Club.

The format is Four Ball and Foursomes the first day on the Upper Course playing at 7,089 yds and 6,606 yards respectively with both at par 71.

The second day on the Lower Course is an Aggregate score of the two man team played from 7,139 yds with a par of 70 for a total 72 hole par of 282.

ABOUT THE Baltusrol Invitational

Due to the restoration of the Lower Course and COVID-19, the Baltusrol Invitational will not be played until 2022.

Founded in 1975, The Baltusrol Invitational is a mid- amateur invitational four-ball tournament played at Baltusrol Golf Club over two days in August. The tournament consists of rounds of better ball and foursomes on the first day, played on the Upper Course, followed by aggregate medal play on the second day, played on the Lower Course. The Invitational has a Mid-Amateur Division and a Senior Division (both players over 55). Each team's combined handicap index may not exceed 2.0.
