NAPLES, FL (April 15, 2016)--Andrew McCain (-5) shot an opening day 67 and leads by two after the first round of the Terra Cotta Invitational. McCain began his round on number one and promptly birdied the opening hole. It was the first of five birdies during the Jacksonville, FL residents bogey-free opening round.

Appearing in his second Terra Cotta Invitational at Naples National Golf Club McCain carded birdies on 1, 4, 13, 15 and 16. McCain has started his 2016 campaign strong with a a pair of top-three finishes, placing T2 at the New Year Invitational and T3 at the Azalea Invitational. He will be looking to improve upon his T26 in last years Terra Cotta.

Kaito Onishi (Japan) and Harry Ellis (England) both shot opening round 3-under 69's and are T2. Onishi in his second Terra Cotta appearance bogeyed just two holes during his first round while birding three and eagling the par-5 fourth.

Ellis also appearing in his second Terra Cotta started out quickly with a birdie on his first hole, the 10th. However, the next two holes resulted in bogeys putting him at 1-over through three holes. Things would turn around quickly as Ellis birdied the short 302 yard par-4 13th and then promptly follow that up with an eagle on the ensuing par-5 moving him to 2-under on the day. Two birdies and another bogey closed out Ellis' opening 69.

In all 10 players are currently under-par after the first round. Two player are T4 at 2-under and another five sit at 1-under-par T6. Included in the group at -1 is Andy Zhang the winner of the Azalea Invitational earlier this month.
