Chan, Rattanasin are latest winners of IMG Junior World

It’s a distinguished list of players who have won the IMG Junior World title, and Aidric Jose Chan from the Philippines is the latest. Chan went 11 under at the Torrey Pines North Course to slide past Jimmy Zheng for a one-shot victory.
Chan’s victory isn’t particularly surprising, either, given his recent tournament results. The Philippine National team member won the Philippine Junior Open at the start of the year and was third at the Taiwan Amateur. He was also fifth at the Philippine Amateur Open.
Last year at the IMG Junior World Championship, Chan finished 34th.
Zheng, a New Zealander, finished at 10-under. He best round came on Day 3, when he had a 66 to climb the leaderboard. Ben Lorenz of Peoria, Ariz., was the highest American in third.
In the girls division, Sarunchana Rattanasin of Thailand won the title with a 6-unde 282 total. Rattanasin had rounds of 71-70-68-73 to win by three shots over a group of four players that included Hsin-Yu Lu of Taiwan, Kano Nakamura of Japan, Maddi Olson of Abilene, Texas and Maddison Hinson-Tolchard of Australia.
