Mike Combs (Society of Seniors Photo)
Mike Combs of Roswell, Ga., shot a second round 2-under 70 to take the 36-hole lead at the eighth annual Society of Seniors Founders Cup at the Silverado Country Club (North Course) in Napa, Calif.
Combs shot a first-round 1-under 71 to sit T3 and followed it up with an even better 2-under 70 in the second round to hold a two-shot lead over Mark Sanchez of Kentfield, Calif. Combs and Sanchez are the only two golfers in the Division that are under par.
Combs was 1-over on the front nine with two birdies and three bogeys but finished strong coming home on the back nine, recording three birdies on Holes No. 11, 15, and 18 and no bogeys.
