Ernie Pieper Santa Clara County & Senior Championship: Myers and Boyns Win
SAN JOSE, CALIF (June 5, 2011) -- Jay Myers, who recently completed his junior year at San Jose State University, holed out from 25 yards out on the 54th hole to win the 85th annual Ernie Pieper Santa Clara County Championship held at the San Jose Country Club.
Myers finished the 54-hole tournament on June 6-7 posting a one-under par 209 on the par 70 course. George Gandranata finshed in second place one stroke off the pace with score of 210.
In the Senior division, Casey Boyns won on the second playoff hole over Gary Vanier and Rob Thompson. The three players finished the 36-hole event with scores of 147 (+7).
