Wyoming Amateur: Graham wins it on final hole
BUFFALO, Wy. (July 22, 2012) -- With a four foot birdie putt on the 54th hole Ryan Graham was able to beat Cameron Lindell by one stroke to win with a final score of 214, 2-under par. Coming into the final round the tournament was up for grabs as four players began play within four shots of Graham.
The final pairing of the last round included Mark Isakson of Sheridan, Eddie Stewart of Jackson, and Graham of Buffalo. Through the first nine holes all three players were over par. Graham had three straight bogeys on holes 3-5 and then was able to birdie two out of the last three holes to make the turn at one over par. In the group ahead of Graham, Cameron Lindell made a thirty footer on the 9th hole for eagle. This gave him a 32 and the lead after nine. The lead swhitched back and forth on the back nine. Cameron Lindell made all pars on the back nine including an incredible par 5 on the 18th. He was in trouble off the tee and was hitting his fourth shot from 185 yards to the green. He made his best swing of the day and hit it to within three feet, and made the putt save a par and a final score of one under par. Ryan Graham then knew that he needed a birdie for the win and a par to force playoff for the championship. His tee shot landed in the rough behind some trees. He was forced to chip out to the fairway and advanced the ball to within 100 yards from the hole. His next shot demonstrated his determination as he hit his approach four feet from the hole. He then stepped up and calmly sank the putt to secure the championship.
