Alabama closed the door on a flawless fall season Tuesday with a fourth and final victory at the Gifford Collegiate. With that title, the Tide take their winning streak to 10 events, dating back to the Schenkel Invitational in March.

Alabama finished 54 holes at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach, Calif., at 4-under 836. The Tide is now a combined 32 under for the fall. Alabama edged runner-up USC by three shots after the Trojans made a final-round charge with a 1-under 279. It was too little too late, however.

“I am really proud of this team, winning is very difficult,” Alabama head coach Jay Seawell said after the round. “It got down to one shot with two of our players still on the course and Bobby (Wyatt) and Trey (Mullinax) both buckled down and handled the situation to win this golf tournament.”

SMU was third at 2-over 842 and Washington and Northwestern were fourth and fifth, respectively.

Despite falling short of the team title, USC claimed the top two players on the individual leaderboard in Rico Hoey and Anthony Paolucci. Both began the day tied for second, but freshman Hoey’s 2-under 68 left him at 8-under 202, one shot ahead of Paolucci.
