Tennessee Sr. Four-Ball: Green, Golliher defend title
LENOIR CITY, Tenn. (April 26, 2014) -- Danny Green and Steve Golliher successfully defended their title at the 2014 Tennessee Senior Four-Ball Championship Sunday.
The winners earned the top seed in match play before rolling through their first-round match with Tom Baird and Tim Burns. Golliher and Green slipped past Tom Provow and Mark Enderle before squaring off against Ronni Rochell and Phil Hoy in the championship match.
According to the Tennessee Golf Association:
"...Golliher and Green were in for a tight match on the front nine making the turn at 1 up. A string of birdies at holes ten and eleven would grow the lead to 3. Another win at the par-5 fourteenth and the champs stood dormie 4. To put the icing on the cake Steve Golliher rolled in a 35 foot putt on the fifteenth hole to make a birdie and claim the 2014 Tennessee Senior Four-Ball title."
Mike Nixon and Mike Patton won the Super Senior title, defeating Jess Voorhies and Gary Pierce, who also finished second at last year's event.
