Carlton Woods Invitational: Kyle Nathan takes early lead

THE WOODLANDS, Texas (May 6, 2014) -- Reinstated amateur Kyle Nathan of Glenview, Ill. fired a 3-under 69 and leads all scorers after the first round of play at the 2014 Carlton Woods Invitational.
Nathan's superb round puts him three up on two contenders with national resumes. David Poteet of Suwanee, Ga. and Brady Exber, a seven-time Southern Nevada Golf Association Player of the Year, shot even par 72 and are tied for second place.
Michael Bode and Brett Snortland are tied for second with 74s while Randy Lance and defending champion Colby Harwell are tied for sixth place after the first round.
