Dogwood Invitational: Seabolt, White surge into lead
By Jack Persons

ATLANTA, Ga. (June 26, 2014) -- Both Zach Seabolt and Davin White vaulted past first-round leader Seth Reeves on Thursday to tie for the lead at the Dogwood Invitational.

Seabolt and White are both at 11-under 133 after two rounds of play at Druid Hills Golf Club.

Seabolt, a rising sophomore at Winthrop University, followed up his first-round 70 by carding 10 birdies and one bogey on his way to a eye-popping 63. The round included a back-nine 30 which included only three pars and a birdie streak that lasted five straight holes.

After his opening 68, White, who plays at Georgia State, posted a second-round 65, as he made eight birdies to go along with a lone bogey. Like Seabolt, he went on a birdie streak of his own at the end of his round, making four straight to get to 11-under before parring his last hole.

First-round leader and Georgia Tech player Seth Reeves shot a three-under 69 on Thursday for a two-round total of 10-under 134. He sits only a shot back of the lead, tied with Trey Rule of Mercer in third place.

Other notables include Georgia Tech’s Anders Albertson, who is tied for fifth at nine-under 135, and defending champion Michael Johnson, who rebounded from his first round 76 with a stellar 67.

The 72-hole tournament continues tomorrow with the third round, and play will conclude with Saturday’s final round. Results can be viewed at the link below.
