KANSAS CITY (July 12, 2014) -- Several of Kansas City’s best players have found their way to the top of the leaderboard again at the 2014 Kansas City Amateur Championship.
Defending champion Zac Dittmer fired a second round 68 to claim the lead today at the Kansas City Amateur. Dittmer has played nearly perfect golf over the first two days. He carded his first bogey of the tournament on his 36th hole late Saturday evening. He takes a five shot lead into the final round over University of Missouri- St. Louis golfer Matt Barry. Barry carded his second straight 70 to finish at 140.
Three other players are in red figures heading into the final round. Cameron Wiltse, Devin Montague and Alex Higgs are all positioned for a final round charge six strokes back at 141.
In Senior division play, the 2012 overall KC Amateur champion Steve Groom, leads all players with a two round total of six under, 135. Groom has made eleven birdies in his first thirty-six holes to put him six clear of two time champion Andy Smith who sits at 141. Three players sit at even par within shouting distance of Groom’s two day total.
In the Legends division, Tom Bachelor leads all players with an aggregate of two over 144. He leads by seven strokes over Ron Brewer at 151.

18.4 is required for the Players Flight (gross and net
scoring). A
player must be at least 60 years of age by the first
day of the
competition to enter the Legends Flight (gross and
net scoring).
